Bio
I am passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families find wholeness, reconnection, restoration, and resilience. I am grateful for the privilege that comes with being invited into your hidden inner world, memories, and experience, and I aim to utilize your story to help build a more meaningful, congruent, and hopeful life narrative.
I am completing my Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Trinity Western University. Beyond this, I work part-time as a painter and Campus Minister at my church. I am also a husband and new father to our wonderful little boy.
My Approach
I recognize that navigating personal struggles or relational difficulties can often feel overwhelming, especially when these dilemmas are held internally. Bottling up distress and hoping it will subside might seem like a good option, but doing so can often lead to symptoms worsening. This occurs as neural pathways become reinforced, contributing to negative coping patterns, unmet needs, and a decline in overall personal or relational well-being. Therapy offers an open space to bring things to light and, through exploration and genuine connection, find healing and personal growth.
I am trained primarily in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), which views each couple or individual client from a systemic perspective, examining both their unmet attachment needs and the emotional patterns that shape their interactions. By identifying and transforming these patterns, I help clients create deeper connections, foster emotional safety, and develop more secure, fulfilling relationships. While EFT is my overarching framework, I may integrate other approaches, such as Internal Family Systems or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, to support clients in understanding their emotions, reshaping unhelpful thought patterns, and fostering deeper self-awareness and relational connection.
